The Folly comes with a cozy log fire, two bedrooms and a deck with breathtaking views of the valley. You won’t need to leave your cabin to cook, as the cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and a BBQ on the verandah.
You will need a car to get to the cabin. 20 km sealed road from Dungog then 2 km on unsealed road. Closest food supplies at Dungog (20 min drive). Plenty of lovely country drives in the local area, including to nearby Barrington Tops National Park and Chichester Dam reserve.
ACTIVITIES
Guests also have access to swimming pool, tennis court and walking tracks on 180 acres of Barringtons Wilderness Estate. And of course, all the walking trails within the Barrington Park National Park.

The Folly is perfect family accommodation. The cabin is located near Dungog, in the foothills of the Barrington Tops National Park. Hidden away on the northern edge of the Wilderness Estate, the cabin offer stunning views and the soothing sounds of nature. The cottage is located on 180 acres which you are free to explore; with bushwalks, dams, a salt-water swimming pool, tennis court and amazing wildlife.

The Folly is located less than a 5 minute walk from the salt water swimming pool, tennis court, children’s playground and a bbq area. A well stocked kitchen is provided so you can easily self-cater. Cosy up by the log fire in Winter and watch the world go by and of course air-conditioning for summer.
The most regular visitors to The Folly are the wallabies, kookaburras, king parrots and echidnas.
Enjoy some of the beautiful walks and water holes in the National Park, with private places to swim, some more secluded than others. In the lower valleys of the park, you’ll find subtropical rainforests and up on the plateau, there sub alpine woodland which can have snow in winter.
Most of the area is declared wilderness, and it’s a well-known destination for bushwalkers. But the park is accessible even to those with limited mobility. The park’s varied environments are home to a wide range of plants and animals, and it protects more than 50 rare or threatened species.
You can also spend days exploring and the friendly country town of Dungog is a a 20 minute drive away where you can explore the wonderful Dungog Common and all the new mountain bike trails. Once you have done all of that you may enjoy a beer from the Tin Shed Brewery or some food from some of the wonderful cafes that will love to welcome you.
You will also find lots of interesting little shops and art galleries in Dungog.
