ACTIVITIES
Karmya Cabin is a 5 minute drive Cooroy where you will find eateries, coffee shops, an award winning IGA supermarket, the old Butter Factory (now an art gallery and gift store), op-shops, historic walking trails and one of the Noosa Botanic Gardens.
It’s a 10 minute drive to the world famous Eumundi markets which are held Wednesdays and Saturdays. Noosaville and it’s riverside restaurants and shops are only 15-20 minutes, with Noosa Heads only 5-10 minutes further. Pomona, to the north (where King of the Mountain is held each year) and Cooran are also worth exploring.
You also have the entire the property to explore. The ridge track is a relatively flat walk and can be enjoyed by most. If you are more of an experienced bush walker with a moderate to high fitness level, you may be keen to explore a bit more and make the trek up and down the hill to the cabin.
FULL BODY MASSAGE: Casey’s healing space is set up in the small studio beside your cabin. This space is designed exclusively for Karmya Cabin guests, so there will never be other clients onsite during your stay. She is fully qualified to provide you with an integrated whole body massage, applying as much or as little pressure as requested. Casey can also incorporate a free sound bath experience and guided meditation into the treatment. While it is possible to request a booking on the day, it is best to book ahead to ensure she is available. ($60/hr – her discounted onsite price)
THE ENVIRONMENT
From the Owners
“We are passionate about our accommodation experience, our property and leaving a light footprint on the Earth.
– Powered by solar
– 100% rainwater
– bio-cycle septic
– proper recycling (we sort their recycling and ensure anything that can’t go in the normal recycle bin (i.e. Styrofoam) we take to the appropriate facilities for recycling
– ~95% of all items in the cabin, including furniture, artwork, electronics etc. are all second-hand, locally sourced and/or made from recycled materials.
– We use “Who Gives a Crap” toilet paper (100% recycled and a charity for WaterAid) and we use 100% recycled paper towels
– We bulk-buy wherever possible and put into our own containers to minimize packaging
– We have bamboo toothbrushes and natural toothpaste in recycled packaging available for purchase at cost
– All of our cleaning products are all-natural, biodegradable, septic-friendly etc.
– We provide organic, free-range eggs from our neighbours, local milk, eco-friendly and fairtrade chocolates, tea and some snacks.
– We provide local, organic, fairtrade coffee.
– We provide organic wine
In addition to all of this, 95% of our property under a Voluntary Conservation Agreement with our local council (on title) and have a vegetation management plan which we must follow. We are continuing the project, started by the previous owners 15 years ago, to revegetate the land to its natural state (it was a bean farm and then was left barren). We are also a “Land For Wildlife” property, but the Voluntary Conservation Agreement is much more serious.
We take it upon ourselves to “rescue” plants and have recently found a passion for finding rare/endangered native species and planting them on our property. Our first of these was a Native Tamarind tree, which is doing really well!
We have only lived here a year but our dream is to have a food forest some day and use permaculture practice in our gardens, providing meals to guests once we get our Food Business certification.”

Karmya Cabin is a true nature-lovers retreat. It is private and wildlife abounds. Feel free to wander around and see for yourself!
The spacious self-contained studio has a gentle, relaxing ambience and perfect for couples. It features high ceilings and many glass windows and doors will help you appreciate this beauty wherever you choose to sit.
Cook in the fully equipped kitchen or on the deck with a mini BBQ, take in the spectacular views and birdsong. Snuggle by the fire on cold nights. Welcome basket upon arrival/
There is a track along the ridge (approx. 600m round trip) for you to enjoy at your leisure and take in the magic. You are likely to encounter foraging wallabies, butterflies, dozens of bird species…maybe even a goanna or echidna!
It is just a short drive to Gympie Terrace and Noosa beaches and many tourist hot spots. In house massages by qualified masseuse can also be arranged.
From the owners:
“Karmya” is a combination of the ancient Sanskrit word “karma” and the Aussie colloquial expression “Calm ya farm.” It is both a serious and playful expression of what Karmya Cabin Eco-Retreat is all about. In the most simple terms, “karma” refers to the universal law of cause and effect, of which intention plays a significant role.
Keeping this in mind, we always aim to put the energy of loving, healing intention as well as respect and appreciation for the natural environment into our property and into Karmya Cabin. From how we have chosen to fill the space and the amenities on offer, we try to ensure everything embraces an ethos of sustainability to the best of our ability.
As for the “calm ya farm” part…that’s just a playful reminder to take a step back, breathe deeply and karmya body and soul.”
