Mongolian Yurt Interior
FEATURES
The yurt is decorated in Mongolian decor and is magical at night with the turkish lanterns throwing beautiful colours into the room.  There is a small table and chairs for dining in the yurt and a larger outside table.

The interior of the yurt is cosy and warm in winter due to the small cast iron stove which is great for heating and cooking on in cooler weather.  During summer the yurt is cool due to the 5cm thick lambswool felt lining, it also has a canvas outer layer and a cotton inner liner.  The room is divided by a curtain where another two people could sleep if they don’t mind being in close proximity to other people.

Outdoor cooking facilities include a tripod where you can cook a camp stew in a cast iron pot or boil a billy.  A unique way to enjoy the Australian bush and glamping experience!

Toilet and shower facilities are rustic due to the isolated location.

Sounding Good?  Read on…

The Mongolian yurt is situated on top of a mountain overlooking the beautiful King Valley on a 345-hectare working cattle and sheep farm. After driving up a steep dirt track through natural bushland teeming with kangaroos, wombats, deer etc. you will burst onto a plateau with the most amazing views of the mountains.

The property is in an isolated location so you can enjoy the incredible views while sitting in the privacy of your own yurt watching the sunrise and set. The stars are incredible at night.

The Yurt Alpine Retreat is decorated in traditional Mongolian decor. The Yurt is 5m diameter divided into two sections by a curtain could sleep five people who don’t mind being in the same room. There is an outdoor BBQ for cooking on and a small portable gas stove, or a small cast iron indoor stove which keeps it cosy in the cooler weather. There are double doors, one made of glass to see the fantastic views, and the other beautifully painted wood.

Towels and bedding are provided and everything else you need apart from food. Outdoor gas heated shower and outdoor toilet with great views, all part of the glamping experience. The Yurt is cool in summer and warm in winter due to its thick lambswool felt liner. The owners recommend the joys of sitting in the yurt on a cold day by the fire, and looking out through the glass doors at the beautiful views.

Your Mongolian Yurt is within 20 minutes of fine restaurants and wineries. There is a river 20 minutes drive away, a waterfall an hours drive and an isolated water hole 40mins away. Mobile phone coverage is good at the yurt but limited when walking around the property, but why not switch it off altogether and enjoy the sounds of silence. Views of the stars and sky on a clear night are wonderful and easily seen through the dome of the yurt.  The toilets and shower facilities are rustic. There is no electricity but there is gas hot water and solar lighting and a solar operated car fridge.
