CURRUMBIN ROCK POOLS
Located alongside Currumbin Creek Road, just a short 15-minute drive from the beaches of the Southern Gold Coast, take a dip and cool off at the Currumbin Rock Pools. The pools are suitable for all ages, with shallow sections perfect for the little ones as well as areas to enjoy a quiet picnic under the trees or visit the café conveniently located across the road.
MOUNT COUGAL, SPRINGBROOK NATIONAL PARK
Mount Cougal is a mountainous section of Springbrook National Park, which is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. Mount Cougal’s twin peaks have a significant place in stories told by the Yugambeh people, who have inhabited the area’s mountains and valleys for thousands of years. The park protects valuable wildlife habitat and a diverse range of animals. It is the most easterly known location of the Lamington spiny cray.
Enjoy a picnic at the scenic Cougal Cascades. At the display shelter, read about the parks World Heritage values. Take the walking track past cascades and rock pools to the restored remains of a bush sawmill dating from the 1940s. As you walk, watch for the land mullet, the world’s largest skink.

Heading into the Currumbin Valley is a little like entering an Aladdin’s Cave of adventure. From the coastline, head southwest into another world along Currumbin Creek Road which leads to Tomewin Mountain Road winding up to Tomewin Mountain.
At 457 metres high it offers a great vantage point over the entire valley as well as north to Mount Tallebudgera and west across the World Heritage-listed Rainforest mountains of Cougal and Springbrook. The drive itself into the valley is something special, you’ll pass farms, eco villages, fruit stalls, bed and breakfasts, homesteads, gardens and cottages. It’s easy to see why the descendants of early settlers, who came here for the red cedar timber and to raise dairy cattle and farm bananas, still call this lush valley home.
The Luxury Rainforest Eco Retreat is situated on 10 acres adjacent to the main residence.
The property was originally an old avocado and banana farm. Avocados are still farmed on the property to supply the local organic fruit and veg market. Lime trees, pawpaw, persimmon, oranges, mandarins, passion fruit and coffee bushes also grow on the property. There is an abundance of wildlife such as kangaroos, Kookaburras and a wide variety of birds.
There is a private Access ramp and private tropical garden with an outdoor stone bath. Alfresco Dining area with Valley and Rainforest views. Ideal for those couples that are looking for privacy.
Note: The house is on a shared lot with another small residence at the back of the property.
Address: Tomewin Mountain Road, Currumbin Valley, Qld.
